We all have judgements, that internal voice saying:
I should have a better job,
I should have more time,
I should be a nicer person and not get angry.
What we’re really saying is I should do better. But what I’m saying is go easy on yourself. You’re doing the best you can at the moment. Acknowledge the seemingly small achievements in the day, which make up the bigger picture of contentment. Take a moment to stand back and admire and say I did that, and I feel good looking at it.
If you offer forgiveness to yourself and say “I love and accept myself” watch what great things can happen and notice how you feel that day, the next, the week after.
How you wake up on a morning has a massive effect on how you travel through the day. When I used to wake up every morning I’d say, oh I’m so tired, I should have gone to bed earlier, that noise woke me up in the night, how am I going to get through the day. All judgements of myself. In no way did these acknowledgements make me happy and start the day well.
Now every morning the first words I say to myself are affirmations.
“why has my body had all the rest and sleep it needs”
” why am I going to achieve all that I need to today”
“Why am I so happy with myself”
Then when I look in the mirror, no matter what I look like (bed head and furry teeth and all) I say “Why am I young and beautiful at every age” Louise L Hay
Affirmations (positive and negative) are what Noah St John researched and noted the effects they have on your body. Saying positive internal questions, he believes your mind will respond with what you want. If you say “why am I so fit and healthy” it will respond with, oh you want to be fit and healthy, I can do that. If you say why am I so tired and full of pain, it’ll say oh you want to be tired and full of pain.
Check out Noah St John, he is a great believer in the power of positive affirmations.
How you go to bed is also important. Dr Wayne W. Dwyer recently passed away. He said before bed each night, the last five minutes are the most important before your unconscious mind runs free in your dreams. He had a plague hanging on his bed that says “GOOD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN”. Don’t be afraid to dream, and dream big.
Never forget, doing what you love is the cornerstone of having success in your life. Be happy as you do your work, whatever that might be. Take regular beauty breaks, admiring the view from your window, the garden or just looking at the sky. All this feeds the soul and enriches your wonderful life.
